Caroline Young-Henry focuses her practice on drafting and reviewing drilling and division order title opinions covering interests on fee, state, and federal lands for oil and gas companies. She brings experience curing title defects and probating estates to clear title for clients in Colorado, Wyoming, and North Dakota.
Her practice also involves the preparation of estate planning documents and educating clients on decisions regarding preservation of wealth for the intended beneficiaries. She recognizes every family and financial situation is unique and tailors the estate planning process to help each client make the best choices for their descendants and beneficiaries. Her expertise consists of preparing wills, living trusts, powers of attorney, advanced healthcare directives, and living wills.
Additionally, Caroline is a certified mediator and volunteers her time assisting the Fort Collins Mediation and Restorative Justice program. She is active in the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association and serves as adjunct faculty of the Paralegal Program of Arapahoe Community College, teaching Environmental and Introduction to Law classes.
Prior to practicing law, Caroline attended Colorado State University as a scholarship D1 student-athlete, graduating in 2013 with a B.S., double-majoring in Animal and Equine Sciences. She was honored for her athletic and academic achievements by the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA). She first gained interest in law during an internship with former Governor Bill Ritter at CSU working on the Advanced Energy Legislation Tracker database. Her sparked interest in energy law led her to receive her PLM Certificate from the University of Houston, Downtown in 2015 and her J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2019. During law school, Caroline held various internships at boutique water law and oil and gas law firms and enrolled in the Estate Planning Practicum in her final year.
In her spare time, Caroline regularly competes in Ironman and local triathlons and spends time with her husband, Wesley, and cat, Oscar enjoying all of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.
